Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to move to the next and more practical stage of the indicator design process for Monitoring child well-being: A South African rights-based approach. Here we propose a framework to guide the design of a rights-based and well-being monitoring system for the country, including criteria for the selection of indicators and measures. It is our intention that the model is refined during a series of consultation with policy experts and government.
