Abstract
In 2015, Ilifa Labantwana funded, through Innovation Edge, the development of an Early Learning Outcomes Measure (ELOM) for South Africa. The measure was intended to provide all types of early learning programmes with a psychometrically valid instrument for the assessment of children from all socio-economic backgrounds against the early learning standards that they are expected to reach prior to Grade R, and which will thereby provide evidence for the performance of early learning programmes.
